Like any science, resolving a UX problem starts with a hypothesis and find proof to support it or take us to a better solution.

I'm the number 1 believer that usability tests are what make products great. I mean, do we really trust a bunch of nerds to make a great product intended for mass consumption without people's feedback? I wouldn't :)
Usability Test
I treat any user interviews as therapy sessions. Active listening not only in the words, but the tone, body language, and emotions.
